The Grossglockner - Austria
This ride Starts with a short descent to warm up the legs before turning back & climbing up past the Village of Heiligenblut. Now the road twists & turns its way up past pine forest , open moorland & finally into the extremely rugged mountain terrain passing craggy cliffs & waterfalls. Once you exit the Hochtor tunnel at 2500m you descend into a world of clouds, snow & rock.
Giro del Mortirolo
The Mortirolo is one of the most feared climbs in the Tour of Italy now you can find out for your self why this is so! This ride starts with a strategically placed 21km long warm-up along the shores of the incredibly scenic Lago d'Iseo. Following this is a classic climb up the Passo del Gavia which is also one of the toughest climbs in the Tacx Real Life Video collection.
Giant of The Provence - France
Climbing the Mont Ventoux (1,909m) is a challenge for even well-trained riders. This legendary mountain, the 'Giant of the Provence', lies in Provence in the dry sun baked south east corner of France. This well balanced DVD includes two lengthy rides that take in the easy scenic roads surrounding this famous climb, as well as the epic climb its self.
Argus Tour - South Africa
The total distance of this course is 91.5 km. Long, straight roads are characteristic of this course. The first section of this journey is hilly and ideally suited to warming up. You will then cycle across wide, time-trial-friendly, asphalt roads. Finally, the ascent to the cable car station on Table Top Mountain follows. You will have a magnificent view overlooking Capetown, where the race also finishes.
Pyrenees Stage - France
It is a wonderful course with fantastical panoramas and should not be missing from any Real Life Video collection, especially if you are into exhausting mountain stages. It was George Hincapie who won one of the toughest stages in the 2005 Tour de France here. Now you too can experience what he had to endure during the final three climbs of stage 15.
Giro del Mortirolo 2008 - Italy
The Mortirolo (1.851 m), one of the toughest climbs that the sport of cycling has to offer. The Stelvio (2.758 m), climbed for the first time in 1953, when cycling legend Fausto Coppi reached the top as ’numero uno’. And the Passo di Gavia (2.621 m), the mountain pass that gave birth to one of the most epic Giro stages ever when Johan van der Velde conquered its snowy flanks. You will not ride through the snow in your home, but there is no doubt that seeing this film will make you break into a cold sweat.
Alpine Classic - 2007
This is a challenging ride with unforgettable views of the Alps, breathtaking descents and steep climbs. The 86 km course with the wooded Col du Télégraphe (1570m) and descends down to the Valloir ski resort, across the rugged Col du Galibier (2,642m), down the Col du Lautaret (2,000m), the hamlet La Grave and the dam bridge at Lac du Chambon. After the village of Les Clapier there is a long, flat road to Bourg d’Oisans, where you can pause to catch your breath. You finish this epic ride with the tough unrelenting world famous climb of Alpe-d'Huez to the finish at the mountain ski resort of the same name (1,839m).
Mont Ventoux 2008 - France
The legendary Mont Ventoux (1.909 m), the 'Giant of la Provence' is a real challenge, even for well-trained cyclists with over 21 km of constant climbing. The full 110 km ride starts 37 km south east of the main climb in the picturesque village of Sault passing lavender lined roads as it twists its way to the climbs start in Bedoin via the very scenic Gorges du Nesque. Then descend down the western side as there is still a slightly challenging 53 km ride to the finish in Montbrun.
Amstel Gold Race 2007 - Netherlands
Starting on the Gulpenerberg descent at about a 3rd of the way into the actual race with climbs 9 & 10 (10 being the best of the ride with the slow climb up the Camerig). You then Jump forward to the last 79km of the race including the last 12 climbs (GPMs) with hills 20 - 31. Includes 2 accents of the Cauberg & all the climbs that are shown on TV in the last 2hrs.
Tour of Flanders 2007 - Belgium
The Ronde van Vlaanderen is a world-famous classic, varied and unpredictable. ’Vlaanderens mooiste’, the term of endearment that Belgian cycling fanatics use for this race, is famous for its many short, steep climbs, the likes of ‘Kruisberg’ and ‘Oude Kwaremont’, fast descents, narrow, windy roads and treacherous cobblestones. Thousands of spectators are on the side of the road, cheering you on. You will feel like being in the lead of the race.
Milan San Remo 2008 - Italy
San Remo, AKA la Primavera, is the Italian spring classic. The season opener is known most of all for the grueling distance (300 km/185 miles), the high speeds that are reached, the wide and smooth roads and the short climbs that make up the final bit of the course. The top of the Cipressa is the highest point of the race; after cresting the Poggio you’ll finish on the Via Roma in San Remo.
San Sebastian Classic - Spain
Two famous Pyrenean itineraries in one! Experience the wooded and mountainous Basque surroundings with two climbs of average length and a number of undulating stretches ideal for training rides. This film is based on the tough Basque Clásica San Sebastián with the legendary 455 m high climb up Jaizkibel. This is followed by one of the most famous climbs in the world, the Col du Tourmalet with its summit at 2.115 m.
