The Evolution series sits below the Fahgettaboudit in Kryptonite's lock range, and the lock shackle version tested here would be ideal for locking up the complex frame tubes of a full-suspension bike.

The Evolution comes with a mount included which is easy enough to fit, and secures the lock as well, but it's a bit permanent and slightly ugly. Under the first round of attack, the hardened steel of the Evolution's shackle resisted cropping and was so stiff that it hardly flexed when twisted. The double bolt mechanism also resisted hammer and chisel abuse superbly: after five minutes, the Evo still worked and worked well.

In the second test it took one minute and 48 seconds to cut through the shackle - truly impressive for a lock at the price. It's definately the toughest of the long shackle locks on test here, but it just loses out to the OnGuard Brute on value.
