The Fat Albert is a large volume, low weight tyre which was purpose built to provide reliable power transfer and has specially positioned U-blocks. A U-block is a block of tread angled 20 degrees or so towards the outside of the tyre. The U-Block works to counteract the natural outward force the tyre is under when cornering, helping to control the forces and keep the bike stable.

The Schwalbe Fat Albert front has tough, resilient lugs because durability counts more than saving the odd gram in weight. Extra strength and intense grip are achieved by the utilisation of triple nano compound technology.

Schwalbe’s new Triple-Nano compound is a completely revised nano-sized polymer base and filler which has made the new triple compound even better.

More, smaller sized particles have much more surface area than few larger ones, meaning the contact area is greater. This results in a much improved surface grip.
